Damon Fowler profile

by Dan Klefstad

Damon Fowler is one of the youngest and brightest stars in the blues world. This 30-year-old guitarist from Tampa has had a very good year, releasing his first album on a nationally-distributed label, Blind Pig Records. Fowler also just signed with talent agency Piedmont, which represents legends such as Johnny Winter. Fowler and Winter will play several dates together this October.

Fowler's recent success comes just a few years after he nearly died in a vehicle accident. Last May, Fowler came into the WNIJ studio to talk, and play, during the Saturday Blues. He also described his near-death experience and how it changed him. Listen now>>
