Experience the meaning of Restoration in all it definitions. Connect to nature, to community. Enjoy a night hike, morning tours, campfires, silly games, songs, a bit of history, a bit of reflection, restore nature and yourself. Join McHenry County Conservation District for an epic experience (not epic work) at the Weekend of Restoration event Women in Conservation – Today, September 15–17 from 7pm Friday to Noon Sunday at Lost Valley Visitor Center in Glacial Park, Rt. 31 and Harts Rd., Ringwood. During this amazing weekend, we will hold a celebratory breakfast in honor of Women in Conservation Today and hear inspirational stories a few of the talented women whose lives and efforts have changed and will change the natural world of the Chicago Region for the better. Our restoration project will be to begin to restore an old pasture to its former life as an oak savanna. Come help us change the world, this award-winning program is a mini vacation that makes a difference!
