Counseling Sexual Assault Victims

NIU gets $68.5 million grant - largest in school history

DeKalb, IL – 68.5 million dollars in federal, state and private money has been awarded to a consortium led by NIU. It's the largest grant in NIU history. The money will be used to create a broadband network in 9 northern Illinois counties: Whiteside, Stephenson, Ogle, Lee, Jo Daviess, Carroll, Winnebago, Boone and LaSalle.

WNIJ's Guy Stephens spoke with John Lewis, associate vice president for Administration and Outreach at NIU, who led the team that secured the grant.
