DeKalb, IL – DeKalb Mayor Frank Van Buer lost his battle with cancer Wednesday. He was 74.

Van Buer spent his last days at home with his family...he spent his years at City Hall with other elected officials and developers. Helping downtown DeKalb grow and prosper was a top priority for the mayor. WNIJ's Christopher Hosken and Susan Stephens have this report.

Republicans lose Hastert's seat

DeKalb, IL – Jim Oberweis failed to keep Dennis Hastert's Congressional seat in Republican hands. During a special election on March 8th, Oberweis lost to Democrat Bill Foster.
