Watchdog blasts ComEd's rate hike proposal

Firefighter reflects on New Orleans service

DeKalb, IL – Eight DeKalb County firefighters returned home Wednesday, September 21, after spending two weeks in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Among them was Jim Ruhl. Chris Lehman spoke with him as he was putting away his equipment at DeKalb's Fire Station Number One.

Illinois nurse tends war wounded

Mendota, IL – Almost 19-hundred U-S soldiers have been killed in the war in Iraq. But more than 14-thousand have been injured. One northern Illinois nurse spent two months this summer treating many of those wounded soldiers at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. WNIJ's Chris Lehman spoke with her.

Commentary: Remembering NIU's Van Cromphout
