DeKalb, IL – One of the performers at On the Waterfront will be long-time Rockford favorite Randy Sabien. Sabien has performed many times at the festival, as well as in Charlotte's Web concerts, and J-R Sullivan's Hometown Holiday shows. This weekend, he showcases his new band, and his new sound. WNIJ's Guy Stephens spoke with Sabien, and has this report:

Bob is not your flashy frontman. Instead, he sees himself as part of the band...and expects the other members to follow his example. Battle heats up between ProCure and NIU over proton therapy center building
DeKalb, IL – Private developer ProCure is suing Northern Illinois University. As W-N-I-J's Christopher Hosken explains, this is only the latest twist in a long saga over who should be allowed to build a proton cancer treatment center in Illinois.
DeKalb, IL – DeKalb Mayor Frank Van Buer lost his battle with cancer Wednesday. He was 74.
Van Buer spent his last days at home with his family...he spent his years at City Hall with other elected officials and developers. Helping downtown DeKalb grow and prosper was a top priority for the mayor. WNIJ's Christopher Hosken and Susan Stephens have this report.
