16th District candidates acknowledge results

... followed by a  list of area primary winners plus links to moreThe vote tallies were all but completed Tuesday night when the two incumbent Republicans -- 10-term veteran Don Manzullo of the old 16th District and freshman Adam Kinzinger of the old 11th District -- stepped to the microphones at their respective gatherings.

Manzullo was at Giovanni's, an east-side restaurant in Rockford where many such gatherings had been held over the years as the self-described country lawyer sought and then retained his Congressional seat.

Kinzinger went to Starved Rock State Park in LaSalle County, which had been part of his old 11th District and was remapped into the new 16th District.

The first audio link is to Manzullo's speech; the second is to Kinzingers.
