If you suffer from cabin fever during cold weather, WNIJ offers something that's good for what ails you. We have invited four writers to be part of our Winter Book Series, whose interviews aired in December during Morning Edition.

Authors Wanted For Winter Book Series

Are you a writer celebrating a book release? WNIJ seeks works by northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin authors for the 2013 Winter Book Series. During the past year, Morning Edition host and series editor Dan Klefstad interviewed more than a dozen authors from the region -- some already well-known, others just getting started.

For this series we are looking for memoirs and other works of non-fiction as well as novels, short story collections and poetry collections. Nearly all of our previous book series authors were published by independent firms or university presses. But we will consider self-published works that have been edited professionally.

Selected authors will be interviewed for features this December on 89.5 FM and at WNIJ.org. Series authors may also be invited to participate in WNIJ-sponsored reading events in the community.

If you think your book has the "write" stuff, please send it to 801 N. 1st St., DeKalb, IL 60115 to the attention of Dan Klefstad. Paper copies are preferred but e-books will receive proper consideration. Send the latter to dklefstad@niu.edu with the words "Book Series Submission" in the subject line.

Submissions will be accepted through the end of August. Thank you for helping us create amazing radio in northern Illinois. We look forward to hearing from you!
