The Chicago Teachers Union plans to strike Friday in a full day of teach-ins and rallies.
The demonstrations will take place at Chicago State, the University of Illinois at Chicago, City Hall, and the Thompson Center.
They are designed to bring attention to district contract disputes, as well as put pressure on state government to increase funds for public education.
While the Thompson Center protest is set to begin at 4PM, the union says some members will be picketing their schools as early as 6:30 in the morning.
