DeKalb School District Superintendent Doug Moeller was placed on paid leave Wednesday.
The move comes two days after DeKalb High School Principal Michele Albano sought an order of protection against him by a Kane County judge.
Albano claims Moeller became upset after she refused to go out with him, and then called her three times on the night of September 11. She says at the time, he was drunk.
The Daily Chronicle reportsMoeller allegedly sent several e-mails threatening he would go to the school board and ruin her career. Albano also claims Moeller brandished a gun in her presence, popping out the magazine and removing several bullets to show how “adept” he was with the firearm.
The order of protection remains in effect until October 6, when a court hearing is scheduled. In the meantime, the district is working to hire an interim superintendent.
