Are you Team Crunchy or Team Smooth? That's just one of the current questions at DoSomething.org intended to spark interest in an effort to collect peanut butter for local food banks. According to the website, the campaigns are designed to "Make the World Suck Less." CEO Nancy Lublin says social media makes organizing community events a lot easier and less expensive.
"People think having a real impact and social change is something that they will do later when they retire or after they have made a billion dollars or they are a rock star in leather pants, and you can do it now," Lublin said.
At the age of 23, Nancy Lublin founded "Dress For Success," a global project that provides interview suits to women in need. She's now CEO of DoSomething.org, a non-profit geared toward promoting social change among young people. Lublin will visit Northern Illinois University this Saturdayto kick off the university’s annual Celebrating Excellence event.
