Four Killed In Rockford House Fire

UPDATED: Victims' names released

Authorities say four members of a family are dead after an overnight fire in a Rockford home. Officials say they suspect the deadly blaze was caused by an electrical problem. An investigation is ongoing.

Sharon Cashatt, 61, her 21-year-old son Douglas Cashatt, her 13-year-old grandson Dominick Cashatt, and 10-month-old granddaughter Isabella Gonzalez died in upstairs bedrooms. Two other family members, in their 20s, escaped and have been treated for smoke inhalation.

The fire broke out after midnight Monday in a two-story, single-family home on 10th Avenue. The remains of the house have already been demolished by the city.

Winnebago County Coroner Sue Fiduccia says autopsies are planned for Tuesday.
