There's a new plan for improving the health of the Great Lakes. The Environmental Protection Agency released its Great Lakes Restoration Initiative's action plan today at a meeting of the region's mayors in Chicago.

The five year roadmap will speed up efforts to control toxins, invasive species, and farm runoff while restoring native habitat. It also requires new projects to take climate change into consideration: that means planning for heavier storms and using plants that tolerate warmer temperatures.
