Hundreds rally In Sycamore to protest state budget
By Christopher Hosken
Sycamore – While legislative leaders and the governor continue their budget wrangling arguing the merits of an income tax hike and/or deep cuts in social services some in DeKalb County are making their opinions known to politicians. About 250-people showed up for a rally late last week in Sycamore to campaign against a proposal to slash state funding to 80-percent of D-H-H-S child care initiatives. Opponents say the cuts would disappear subsidies to more than 150-thousand children in Illinois more than a thousand in DeKalb County. W-N-I-J's Christopher Hosken reports.
