Huskies Spend Christmas In San Diego

Northern Illinois University's football team has arrived in San Diego. The team is preparing for the Poinsettia Bowl. The Huskies will face Utah State December 26th at 6:30 p.m.

According to a news release from the university, NIU enters the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl with national rankings of No. 22 (Harris), 23 (USA Today Coaches) and 24 (Associated Press) and were 23rd in the final BCS poll.

NIU head coach Rod Carey is 12-2 since taking over prior to the Huskies’ bowl game a year ago.

The game will air nationally on ESPN.
