Applications are now being accepted for a program that helps low-income residents in Illinois pay their utility bills.
Governor Pat Quinn says the LIHEAP initiative will run through July 27th, or until funds are exhausted. $10 million dollars in federal funding is available for the cooling assistance program statewide.
Bill payments are made on behalf of households with incomes of up to 150 percent of the federal poverty level.
