The Dean of the Northern Illinois University College of Law has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
In response to an inquiry by WNIJ, NIU issued the following statement:
"On Wednesday afternoon, February 15, 2017, NIU’s Human Resources office received a complaint regarding NIU Law Dean Eric Dannenmaier and immediately launched an administrative investigation. Dean Dannenmaier voluntarily went on paid administrative leave on Friday, February 17, pending the outcome of the administrative investigation. During the interim, NIU College of Law professor Mark W. Cordes will assume the duties and responsibilities of the dean. NIU takes all matters of complaint seriously and is committed to conducting a thorough investigation."
A spokesperson said NIU could not offer further information or comments on the matter. No other details are available at this time.
