Northern Illinois University has named the next leader of its College of Business.
Balaji Rajagopalan starts his job as Dean July 1st. Currently, he heads the Black School of Business at Penn State Behrend.
NIU provost Lisa Freeman praised him for his collaborative style.
"Dr. Rajagopalan’s documented success at promoting academic excellence, interdisciplinary program development and faculty diversity will benefit the university. His collaborative leadership style will engage faculty, students, staff and alumni in defining the future of the College of Business."
Rajagopalan serves as a senior editor of the Journal of Information Technology and has had work funded by the National Science Foundation. His area of expertise involves helping companies and communities leverage information technologies in business strategies, new product development, and organizational processes.
