DeKalb, IL – The State of Illinois is about three-quarters of a billion dollars behind in payments to its universities. This week, presidents and chancellors from nine public universities senat a letter to the Governor and State Comptroller to remind them of their obligations...and ask for a schedule of when to expect payments. Northern Illinois University President John Peters says the state's fiscal crisis can't wait 'til after the Fall election...and it's going to take "bi-partisan courage" to pull the state through.
