The shopping malls are packed already this morning: Black Friday has been underway for hours. Temperatures are short and patience is thin, so be careful where you park.
Secretary of State Jesse White has ordered his annual Black Friday sting of disabled parking abusers. He calls it “a violation of all laws of human decency.” State and local police are patrolling parking lots, looking for violators.
It’s all hands on deck for the Cherry Valley police department, since CherryVale Mall began opening at midnight for Black Friday shoppers. Police Chief Todd Hood says his officers deal with a 100 to 150 percent increase in disabled parking violations on this big shopping day. His advice for the frustrated shopper eyeing that prime spot so near the door?
