No Hard Evidence Of Alleged Threat At South Beloit High School

South Beloit High School

South Beloit High School parents be assured: There is no hard evidence of a school shooting threat and no imminent danger to students, despite a viral Facebook post to the contrary.

Police and school officials found neither a hit list nor bullets at the high school or the student’s home … so a notice was not sent to all parents -- just to the parents of students directly involved. That’s according to South Beloit School Superintendent Scott Fisher.

“We do do an all-call if we have physical evidence that supports it,” Fisher said. “We always have to be careful when it’s one person saying it against another person.”

Police were called last Friday after being notified of the alleged threats. Fisher says the school takes threats like these seriously, and the student accused of making the threats is no longer at South Beloit High School.

“I have a son that goes to the high school, and I feel perfectly safe with how the situation was handled,” Fisher said.

Fisher says the school district wanted to do a thorough internal investigation before notifying all parents. Police officials say no arrest was made, and the teen was sent to an alternative school.
