One year of 'wedded' bliss: civil unions in Illinois

It has been more than a year since civil unions became legal in Illinois. And in that time, more than 5,000 couples have tied the only knot available to same-sex partners. Several DeKalb couples have just celebrated their first legally-recognized anniversary.

WNIJ’s Susan Stephens spoke with some of them about how their lives have changed since they entered into civil unions.

Susan is an award-winning reporter/writer at her favorite radio station. She's also WNIJ's Perspectives editor, Under Rocks contributor, and local host of All Things Considered.
