Prolonged Touch-Screen Typing Causes Shoulder Problems

Prolonged use of a tablet’s touch-screen keyboard can cause shoulder discomfort.

That’s according to a study led by Northern Illinois University faculty, which was published in the journal Applied Ergonomics.

Researchers found users must keep their fingers hovering to avoid accidentally activating the keys. According to NIU professor Jeong Ho (Jay) Kim, this causes prolonged static in shoulders and causes pain.
