Illinois Governor-elect Bruce Rauner is weighing in on the national immigration debate.
Rauner spoke to reporters at a conference for Latinos involved in state government Friday. Rauner - a Republican - talked with members of his own party who serve in Washington, D.C.
"I will be encouraging members of congress, especially our Republican members whom I’m very close with, I will be encouraging them to take up comprehensive reform in Congress, in coordination with the President."
Several Republican governors have suggested they'll sue the president over the order. They include Wisconsin's Scott Walker.
About a half a million Illinois undocumented residents could be affected by President Obama’s executive action.
