Democrats now have a replacement for a northern Illinois lawmaker who resigned earlier this month.
Elgin City Council member Anna Moeller was sworn in Sunday to replace former state Representative Keith Farnham, who cited health reasons for stepping down. His resignation came around the same time federal agents seized computers from his home and offices in an apparent search for child pornography.
In addition to serving on the Elgin City Council, Moeller has served as executive director of the McHenry County Council of Governments.
The 43rd legislative district includes Elgin as well as portions of Barrington Hills, Carpentersville, East Dundee and South Elgin.
