A report has found that Illinois overdrew Federal Medicaid funds by using faulty procedures.
The US Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General created the review. The auditors say the state used imprecise methods to calculate withdrawals and payments.
According to the report, the state's withdrawals exceeded its Medicaid spending by an average of $60 million a quarter during the three years reviewed.
