Republicans And Democrats Make Up Rauner's Diverse Transition Team

brucerauner.com

Update: Quotes, new information added.

Governor-elect Bruce Rauner has appointed his transition team: the group of advisers includes former Governor Jim Edgar, Congressman Aaron Schock, and former White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley.

Rauner says the group will help the new administration find solutions to the state's problems.

"The transition team is to help us with wisdom, expertise and knowledge and their networks of relationships."

The list of more than two dozen people in a range of leadership positions also has some familiar northern Illinoisans on it: that includes Gloria CardenasCudia, founder of the Salsa Business Network in Rockford, Alpine Bank chairman Rob Funderburg, and former Northern Illinois University trustee Manny Sanchez.

Rauner named Lt. Governor-elect Evelyn Sanguinetti to head the team that will help him transition into the state's top office.

But what specific policies will Rauner implement as Governor, such as state income tax changes?

"I’m gonna work very closely with the General Assembly to come up with short term solutions and long term solutions to our financial trouble."

Rauner thanked Governor Pat Quinn for helping him in this transition, but says the two haven’t spoken since the election.
