Rock Icon Todd Rundgren joins 2012 All Starr Band

This summer rock icon Todd Rundgren will be joining The Beatles Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band.  It has been 13 years since Rundgren’s last stint as guitarist of the ever-changing line up of the All Starrs.

The tour begins June 14 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and culminates with a performance in the legendary Greek Theater in Los Angeles.  The closest performance for WNIJ listeners wanting to attend will be The Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Ind., Sunday, July 8.

Arguably Rundgren’s most popular hit song, “Hello, It’s Me” will be Todd’s contribution to the performance. Past tours have featured Rundgren’s “Black Maria,” “I Saw The Light,” and the popular stadium hit “Bang On The Drum All Day.”

Fellow All Starrs this time around will include Steve Lukather, guitarist of 1980’s super group Toto; Gregg Rolie, best known for his keyboard playing in the band Santana; and, of course, Starr himself playing drums and singing.

WNIJ’s Eric Hradecky had the chance to speak to Rundgren about the upcoming  tour.
