The Rock Valley College Faculty Association filed an intent to strike with the Illinois Education Labor Relations Board, a required legal step for the Rock Valley College faculty to take before going on strike.
According to a news release, this filing does not mean a strike will be called immediately, but sets a timetable of September 11th as the first day professors could walk out of their classrooms if no contract deal is reached.
The faculty association and RVC Board of Trustees are scheduled to meet again on September 2nd.
