Classical WNIU invites you to celebrate Saint Patty's Day a wee bit early - - Saturday, March 2nd, to be exact - - as the best-known Irish band in the world comes back to our area!
Six-time Grammy winners, "The Chieftains" return for an evening of toe-tapping music as part of the Rockford Coronado Concert Association's current performance series. Last year, The Chieftains celebrated their 50th anniversary by reliving fond memories, collaborating with friends, and inspiring a whole new generation of quickly-rising artists in the process.
Rest assured, international fame and attention have not altered The Chieftains' love of, and loyalty to, their roots. They're as comfortable playing spontaneous Irish sessions as they are headlining a concert at Carnegie Hall. After years of making some of the most beautiful music in the world, The Chieftains' sound remains as fresh and relevant as ever. Experience it for yourself when The Chieftains return to Rockford at 7:30pm, Saturday, March 2nd. For more information on this Rockford Coronado Concert Association program, visit our Events Calendar.
