The Rockford Park District Wants Your Suggestions For Winter Activities at Windsor Lake

Paddle and Trail and the Rockford Park Districtare seeking public input on what types of winter recreational activities they would like to see offered at the Regional Activity Center on Windsor Lake in Loves Park.   The Park District says tournaments or festivals could be built around some of these winter activities that could draw visitors to the area.

Windsor Lake opened to the public this past June, and provides fishing and paddlesports through a joint partnership with Paddle and Trail and the Rockford Park District.  The Park District is looking for opportunities for the public to continue to use the lake during the winter months with such cold weather activities as broomball, pond hockey, curling, snowshoeing, or ice skating.

The public is encouraged to submit their ideas for winter activities at http://bit.ly/WindsorWinterSurvey. Paddle and Trail will also have an informational booth at the Rockford City Market where the public can take the survey and learn more about the Regional Activity Center.
