The DeKalb Dist. 428 school board will consider a resolution Tuesday night to approve a settlement agreement and release with Superintendent Doug Moeller.
Moeller has been on paid leave since a district principal requested an emergency stalking order in September.
The "No Contact" order was allowed to expire after DeKalb High School principal Michele Albano failed to appear in court.
In October, the school board hired interim Superintendent Brad Hawk to assume Moeller's responsibilities.
The resolution before the school board allows Moeller to maintain health benefits and retire on April 30, 2017. Until then, Moeller will be removed from the role of Superintendent.
The agreement also states that Moeller will not engage in conduct that "disparages the Board or its individual members." Likewise, the Board and its members cannot engage in conduct that disparages Moeller. According to the separation agreement, "The Parties agree not to thereafter make any oral or written statement to any third party that defames the Superintendent, Board or School District."
The "no-fault" section of the agreement states that the agreement is not to be used as an admission of wrong-doing by either the Superintendent or the Board.
