Several Huskies NFL-Bound

On Sunday, the Chicago Bears agreed to termswith nine undrafted free agents, including former Northern Illinois University quarterback Jordan Lynch. He finished third in Heisman Trophy balloting last season.

Earlier in the week, the 49ers picked up DB Jimmie Wardwith the 30th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

NIU defensive tackle Ken Bishop was the second Huskie to be chosen in the 2014 NFL Draft when he was selected Saturday in the seventh round by the Dallas Cowboys. Bishop was the 251st player chosen.

She returned to Northern Public Radio in DeKalb after several years hosting Morning Edition at WUIS-FM in Springfield. She is a former "Newsfinder of the Year" from the Illinois Associated Press and recipient of NIU's Donald R. Grubb Journalism Alumni Award. She is an active member of the Illinois News Broadcasters Association and an adjunct instructor at NIU.
