Snow Emergencies, Parking Restrictions In Northern Illinois

IDOT (updated 7AM, 12/9/13)

The city of Rockford Public Works Department has declared a citywide snow emergency. The decision requires that vehicles be parked on the odd side of the street when the date ends in an odd number and on the even side of the street when the date ends on an even number. The rules will be in effect until the department lifts them.

Machesney Park officials also declared a snow emergency until further notice. No vehicles may park on any road, highway, shoulder, or property which could be used with the Village of Machesney Park until they have been completely cleared of snow.

In DeKalb, designated Snow Routes prohibit parking after a 2” snowfall until snowplows have completely cleared the street.
