State Police Investigate Officer-Involved Shooting In DeKalb

Illinois State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in DeKalb over the weekend. A Sheriff's Deputy shot a man at the Suburban Estates apartment complex. According to a news release, the officer shot Hassan Coleman in self-defense. Coleman has non-life threatening injuries. The Sheriff's Office has charges pending against him.

Coleman did not live at the apartment, but knew people who did. According to the news release, Coleman was armed and threatened police and "engaged in aggressive action."
