A man wanted for the Saturday shooting of a motorist at CherryVale Mall was arrested by Rockford Police.
They issued a warrant for Donald Ashford Jr. after he allegedly shot a wheelchair bound man twice in the parking lot Saturday.
The Rockford Register-Star reports police pursued a gold Buick matching the vehicle involved in the shooting after it was sighted at the corner of Rockford's Fremont Street and Fulton Avenue. The driver hit another vehicle and shot at a motorist before police lost sight of the Buick.
Ashford was arrested Monday evening and charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated fleeing to elude.
