Tollway Murder Suspect Captured

Illinois State Police

A man wanted for a deadly shooting along the Illinois tollway is now in custody. Authorities say 22-year-old Kody Walsh was captured in Tennessee over the weekend, after he attempted to flee from a traffic stop.

Walsh was the subject of an intense manhunt following the September 9th shooting. Law enforcement officials say they'll begin the process of trying to extradite Walsh back to Winnebago County.

Walsh was being sought by Illinois authorities on a first-degree murder search warrant. Police allege that in the early morning hours of September 9th, Walsh shot Lori Daniels in a vehicle that was traveling near the Wisconsin border along Interstate 90. The suspect later eluded police after a crash in Rockford.

Authorities in Tennessee say a gun and rounds of ammunition were found inside Walsh's vehicle following his capture over the weekend.
