Wisconsin Officials Seek $461,000 For Voter ID Media Campaign

http://bringit.wisconsin.gov/

Wisconsin's state elections board asked for nearly $461,000 to pay for a statewide media campaign raising awareness on voter ID requirements.

The Government Accountability Board today asked the Wisconsin Legislature to release $460,800 in funds appropriated for implementing the voter photo ID law.

The funds would pay for television, radio, and online ads that raise awareness and educate voters on the voter ID issue.

Many of the ads would focus on Bring it to the Ballot, Wisconsin's information site for the voter ID law.

Wisconsin officials have been scrambling to implement the voter ID law in time for the November election, which is just five weeks away. A federal appeals court reinstated the law earlier this month.
