Gas prices dropped at least a dime from last week.
According to AAA, the average Rockford area gas price is currently $2.33 per gallon. That's 25 cents less than a week ago and almost a dollar less from a year ago.
In Chicago, prices are currently at $3.08 per gallon. That's a dime less than last week and about 80 cents less than a year ago.
The average gas price for Illinois is $2.63 per gallon. That's 10 cents less than last week and almost a dollar less than a year ago.
The national average price is $2.65 per gallon. That's about five cents less than last week and about 75 cents less than last year.
