The Rockford Symphony Orchestra presents "Symphonic Dances"

Classical WNIU encourages you to be in the audience this Saturday evening as the Rockford Symphony Orchestra performs its final "Classics Series" concert of the season. The RSO will have your toes tapping with a wonderful program of Symphonic Dances featuring the music of Coolidge, Bernstein, and Rachmaninov.

Dance and music are ancient – inseparable! - partners in melody, rhythm, and movement. Peggy Stuart Coolidge drew inspiration from American folk dance... while Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story harnessed the drama of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and set it to the music of contemporary New York. Sergei Rachmaninov’s last composition, Symphonic Dances, sums up his illustrious career with one final masterpiece.

Hear from all three composers at 7:30 this Saturday evening at Rockford's Coronado Theater. You’ll find ticket details about this next RSO event at our website.
