Be Cautious Of Deer While Driving This Fall

Illinois State Police are warning drivers to be mindful of deer this fall.

A bill sitting on the governor’s desk would ban Illinois drivers from using hand-held cell phones while driving. The measure would still allow motorists to use hands free devices. But some want a law restricting that option as well.

More Training Possible for New Drivers

There's speculation some teenagers put off getting their drivers licenses until they're 18 to avoid Illinois' graduated drivers license program.  There's a chance those young motorists would be required to get more training in the future too.

Northern Illinois sheriff's offices are advising people to be careful of deer crossing the road. It's the time of year when mating deer are most active. Last year in DeKalb County, the sheriff’s office dealt with 100 car accidents relating to deer, accounting for 14 percent of all accidents.
