Lynch Finishes Third in Heisman Voting

Northern Illinois University quarterback Jordan Lynch, a senior from Mt. Carmel High School, placed third in the Heisman Trophy balloting Saturday night.  He is the first Huskie player to be selected as a finalist for the honor, which annually recognizes the most outstanding football player in the country. He also ranked highest of any Mid American Conference players ever considered for the Heisman.

Lynch Named Heisman Finalist

Northern Illinois University quarterback Jordan Lynch is a finalist for the Heisman trophy. Lynch is one of six finalists for the award which will be announced Saturday. He'll join 2012 winner Johnny Manziel, along with Tre Mason, AJ McCarron, Andre Williams, and Jameis Winston in New York City.

Huskies Win MAC Championship in 2OT

Coach Dave Doeren to leave NIU for N.C. State

The NIU Huskies defeated No. 17 Kent State in a thriller Friday night at Ford Field in Detroit to claim NIU's second consecutive MAC championship. Fresh off the win, head football coach Dave Doeren announced he has accepted a job at N.C. State.  According to NIU Athletic Director Jeff Compher, Doeren's departure is effective immediately and he will not coach NIU in its bowl game.

Huskies Claim MAC West Title

The NIU Huskies won a pivotal football game in DeKalb last night. Quarterback Jordan Lynch threw for 407 yards and three touchdowns to help Northern Illinois beat Toledo 31-24.

With the win, the Huskies claim a spot in the Mid-American Conference championship game later this month in Detroit.
