Two Dead Following Bolingbrook Shooting

Bolingbrook officials have pronounced two dead after a shooting earlier Monday in a local industrial park.

Police were sent to YCB International, an auto supply importer in the 600 block of Veterans Parkway.

According to the Chicago Tribune, police spokesman Lt. Carter Larry released details during a news briefing following the shooting.

The spokesman said three employees were in the business when the shooting took place.

Police report that two people were taken to local hospitals and confirmed dead. Several others did not sustain injuries from the shooting.

Sigma Chi Fraternity

A national college fraternity based in Evanston, Ill., is involved in the investigation of a campus shooting in Flagstaff, Arizona.


Sigma Chi Fraternity has confirmed that 18-year-old Steven Jones was seeking membership in the Sigma Chi chapter at Northern Arizona University.

The fraternity’s executive director, Michael Church, also said in a statement that the NAU chapter's operations in Flagstaff have been suspended while the fraternity investigates the shooting.

The lead investigator on the case of a northern Illinois police officer found shot dead has confirmed that the police lieutenant was shot with his own weapon.

Lake County Major Crimes Task Force Commander George Filenko said in a news conference today that Fox Lake Police Lieutenant Charles Joseph Gliniewicz was shot twice, once in the right side, front of his protective vest and once in the upper left chest area.  Filenko  says there was evidence of a struggle at the scene, but tests were inconclusive on whether Gliniewicz fired his gun, or someone else.
