VIDEO: Kirk says recovery continues

U.S. Senator Mark Kirk has released another video message on his website detailing his recovery from a January stroke. In the three minute message, the Illinois Republican says he's still working as much as he can. Kirk says physically he is improving, and so far has been able to climb 145 flights of stairs.

Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL) has released a video showing his progress in recovering from his January stroke. The video is quite candid: it shows Kirk laboring to learn to walk again, with a cane, treadmill, and a harness.

Senator Kirk's stroke recovery progressing: photo released today

The first public photo of Senator Mark Kirk to be released since his stroke in January.

Senator Mark Kirk is “mentally sharp” and keeping up with global issues during daily meetings with his staff. That’s according to the director of the stroke rehabilitation center where the 52-year-old Republican has been since February.

Senator Mark Kirk upgraded to fair condition

Senator Mark Kirk is alert and talking, according to doctors at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Illinois' junior Senator's condition has been upgraded to "fair," more than a week after he suffered a major stroke.
