Chrysler is recalling about 15,000 Dodge Darts because they could stall in cold weather. The Dart is produced in Belvidere.
The affected cars are 2013 Darts with 1.4 liter four-cylinder engines and dual-clutch automatic transmissions. Chrysler says during internal testing, the company discovered that a Dart parked for eight hours in a room at 20 degrees stalled right after it was started. There were similar complaints made to dealerships.
Anyone with a car under the recall should contact a dealer, who will recalibrate the computer that controls the engine and transmission. The fix is free.
