4-8 Inches Of Snow In Monday's Forecast

According to the National Weather Service, there's a Winter Storm Warning in effect Monday until 6 p.m. tonight. Snow may be heavy at times. Accumulation of 4-8 inches.

  • The City of Rockford Public Works Department has declared a citywide snow emergency beginning at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17. The odd/even parking rules will be in effect until the Department deems it is no longer necessary.
  • The City of Beloit has declared a snow emergency in effect from 10:00 am, Monday, February 17 to 9:00 pm, Monday, February 17.  During the entirety of the Snow Emergency declaration, the parking or standing of any vehicle on a City street is prohibited.
  • Winter Parking Regulations are now in effect for the Village of Cherry Valley
  • The Village of Machesney Park will be declaring a Snow Emergency starting at 10:00 a.m.

Closings and early dismissals:
- Sauk Valley College - closed Monday

- Highland Community College - closing at noon.

- Paw Paw school district - letting out at 1:30 pm

- Winnebago School District - no PM pre-school

- Rockford Public Library - all locations closing at 1:00 pm

- Rockford Park District - Indoor Sports Center - closing at 4 p.m., all evening classes canceled

- Rockford Career College - closing at 5 p.m.

- Rockford Dance Company - all classes canceled

- Rock Valley College Studio Theatre Open Auditions for 'Akhenaton' - moved to Tuesday & Wednesday

OTHER:

Rockford Health System's Winnebago and Byron convenient care locations will be closed tonight because of dangerous weather conditions.
