The Illinois State Police say more than 91,000 concealed-carry permits have been issued in Illinois since the state began allowing people to carry concealed guns around in public a year ago. Thereport by the Illinois Firearms Bureau says, out of a total of 91, 651 permits issued in 2014, Cook County, which includes Chicago, topped the list with almost 24,000 permits. Will County was next with more than 6,100 permits, followed by DuPage County with nearly 5,600 permits. Winnebago County had more than 2,100 permits approved, while Kane County had nearly 2,900, McHenry County nearly 2,600 and LaSalle County close to 1,100. The state denied more than 2,300 applications.
