As holidays wind down, there are several options for northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin residents to dispose of Christmas trees.
City of Beloit
Curbside collection begins Monday, Jan. 2, and runs through Friday, Jan. 13. The city asks residents to place trees curbside before 6 a.m. on regular trash and recycling days.
Dropoffs begin 9 a.m. through 12 p.m. on Saturdays starting Jan. 14. The dropoff location is 2351 Springbrook Ct.

City of DeKalb
Waste management will collect and recycle Christmas trees during regular pickup days for the first two weeks in January. The city says trees wrapped in plastic will not be collected.
Christmas tree disposal begins Monday, Jan. 2, and continues through Friday, Jan. 13, at the following locations:
- Southeast corner of North Seventh & Oak Sts.
- Fire Station #2 at 1154 S. Seventh St.
- City Garden Plots by Fire Station #3 - 950 W. Dresser Rd.

City of Sycamore
Christmas trees will be collected through the end of Jan. 31. The city says they must be free of all decorations and plastic bags.
