'Ferguson And Beyond' Peace Vigil In DeKalb

People are gathering today in DeKalb to reflect and connect about this week's violence in Ferguson, Missouri and the issues behind it.

DeKalb activist Dan Kenney says he was moved by the events in Ferguson following the grand jury's decision not to indict officer Darren Wilson for shooting  Michael Brown. He knows others need to talk, too. Today (Wednesday) at 5:00, people are invited to a community gathering and vigilat the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of DeKalb.

Kenney says people are invited to bring a candle and a poem or something else to read to the group. They're also welcome to just listen. He says this event is a good follow-up to a community meeting held this past Sunday: discussing tough issues like inequality and injustice is an important part of building a stronger community.

WHEN: Wednesday, November 26th, 5:00 pm

WHERE: Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of DeKalb, 158 N. Fourth St., DeKalb, IL 60115
