Fred Neuschel is a retired hospital chaplain and certified addictions counselor.
Fred worked in mental health for 35 years, but now spends his time in a variety of volunteer endeavors focused on answering needs for food and clean water. He is the author of “Lives and Legends of the Christmas Tree Ships,” published by the University of Michigan Press, and more recently has turned his attention to writing fiction.
He loves gardening and sail boats, and he still plays with model trains.
He lives with his wife in Crystal Lake, Ill. He has two daughters, four grandchildren and a labrador retriever.
